Patriotic Trivia: Interesting Tidbits to Share Around the Dinner Table

1) Here is a logic question that’s given by some companies to job applicants. See how well you do on it: British Captain James Cook made three long voyages in the 1700s, exploring New Zealand, the ocean near Antarctica, and Hawaii. On which of his three voyages did he die?

2) Who’s the only person that two U.S. state capital cities are named after?

3) Name the four people who are pictured on the front of current, circulating U.S. paper money or coins who were not presidents of the United States.

Scroll down for the answers …

(1) He died on his last one! (He could not have died on the first or second of his three voyages).
(2) The capital of Ohio, Columbus, and capital of South Carolina, Columbia, were both named after Christopher Columbus.
(3) Non-presidents pictured on the front of current, circulating U.S. money are Alexander Hamilton on the $10 bill, Benjamin Franklin on the $100 bill, and Sacagawea and her baby on the $1 coin.
